Arix License

How does our licensing system work, and what is and is not allowed?

A common question we get is about how our licensing works, what is allowed and what is not. We’ve simplified it here to make it as clear as possible.

We recommend reading Arix License and Merchant Agreement.

License Types

First, it's important to understand the definition of a license. There are two types:

  1. Legal License: This grants you legal permission to use our work. It is issued once a purchase has been completed.
  2. Technical License: This is used to authenticate your identity, prevent leaks, and monitor usage. The details of the technical license are intentionally kept secret to prevent nulling (removing or bypassing the license system).

The legal license is issued with a purchase from BuiltByBit. There are two types:

1. Use License

  • Grants permission to use and host our resources.
  • Never expires and cannot be revoked unless you violate the BuiltByBit Terms of Service or License Agreement.

2. Download License

  • Grants permission to download new copies of our resources.
  • For Addon Packs, this expires 6 months after purchase.
  • Can be revoked at any time without reason.
  • Does not affect your Use License.

What You Can and Cannot Do

Allowed:

✓ Host our resources in a secure location
✓ Use them commercially
✓ Modify them however you like
✓ Use it for your hosting company
✓ Advertise it as a feature
✓ Install a responsible amount

Not Allowed:

✖ Resell our resources
✖ Re-license our resources
✖ Offer our resources as (part of) a service
Example: a VPS with Pterodactyl and Arix Theme pre-installed without file access is not allowed.
✖ Install an irresponsible amount (>10)
✖ Redistribute our resources

About Redistribution

Redistribution essentially means sharing. The license says that you may not share our resources with anyone, including friends or system administrators. We do tolerate responsible sharing in practice, but:

  • If someone you shared it with abuses the resource (installs it for others or leaks it publicly), you are responsible, since you originally shared it.
  • If your friend leaks the resources you provided, the violation is your responsibility, not theirs.

By understanding and following these guidelines, you help us maintain a fair and secure environment for all Arix users. If you've any questions regarding our licenses please contact us
